Every install gets a 30-day full trial — no card, nothing auto-charges. One license covers one PBX.
The trial
Your trial registers by itself during the welcome flow. For the 30 days it runs, everything is unlocked.
Admins see a small countdown in the toolbar: blue while there’s plenty of time, amber in the last few weeks, red in the final days, then “Trial ends today”. Editors and viewers don’t see it — it’s the buyer’s signal, not a nag for every user.
When the trial ends
- FreePBX family: Call Flow Studio keeps working in free read-only Viewer mode. You can still visualize everything; editing is locked and image exports carry a small watermark until you activate.
- VitalPBX: access pauses until you activate a license (the VitalPBX product is read-only either way).
Either way, nothing on the PBX itself changes — this only affects Call Flow Studio.
Buying & activating
- Purchase a license. You receive an activation code by email.
- In Call Flow Studio, go to Admin → License.
- Paste the code and click Activate.
The first activation binds that license to that machine. One license = one PBX.
Moving to new hardware
A license is bound to one machine, so release it from the old box before activating on a new one. If the old PBX has failed and you can’t reach it, we’ll release it for you.
Full steps for both cases: Moving or replacing a license.
Messages you might see
- “License required” — no active license yet. Start the trial, or paste your activation code.
- “Trial ended — purchase to continue” — VitalPBX, trial is over; activate to resume.
- “Service unavailable — contact your service provider” — you’re signed in as a non-admin user. Whoever bought the license manages it.
- Revoked, or already active on another PBX — email support@callflowstudio.io and we’ll sort it out.
